For those of you who have seen glimpses into my home whether it’s been on my blog or Instagram – you can all clearly tell I love gallery walls and collages. There’s something about them that just add so much character to a room – whether it’s a plate wall, a frame collage or a full on picture wall, each one can be made so unique! One kind of wall I had yet to create in my home, is a picture wall. Surprisingly enough, most of the photos we have printed and framed around our home are not even hung on the wall, but instead are in frames on table tops and shelves. That is where Canon came in and helped make my first ever picture wall possible. Using the Canon Pixma-Pro 100, Joel and I went through and chose some of our most favorite and cherished photos of our little family that we wanted to be on display for others to enjoy too! As I talked about in my last Canon post, getting around to printing our photos has been a challenge, so having the convenience of printing them in our home is a total game changer, especially with the amazing quality they are.
When selecting our photos for the wall, both Joel and I wanted them to have special meaning behind them and share some of those moments we hold most dear in our lives. After all, when we are dedicating and entire wall to framed photos, they have to be the memories that when you walk by and see them, they make you smile! Of course being 6 and a half months pregnant with our second baby, I was a bawling mess looking back on our journey as a married couple and becoming parents. As we were selecting them, Addi woke up from her nap, she sat on my lap and was so cute watching photos go by and saying “mama” and “dada” pointing at us!
I literally adore my maternity photos I had done, and relive the emotions over and over again of my pregnancy with Addilyn and how special it was to me. From our wedding day, to my pregnancy with Addilyn, and her first year and a half with her in our lives, I hold these moments so dearly and feel grateful that they have been captured (mostly with our awesome Canon camera and lenses. Whether by some amazing photographers, myself or by Joel, I love being able to relive those moments over and over again! Seeing photos of Addi at only 4 days old seemed so surreal to me. She is nearly 18 months, and has changed SO incredibly much since those were taken. It makes me excited to hold and snuggle a tiny newborn again, I really miss those days!
Now to create a gallery wall of any sort is where the challenge truly begins. I cannot tell you how many times I have received emails asking questions on how to do a frame/collage wall – and how so many people find it difficult and don’t even know where to start! I think there is a lot of intimidation when it comes to the process of creating a picture wall that takes up an entire space – plus, when you put a nail into the wall, I think we all cringe a little and cross our fingers that it will turn out okay.
To create our perfect picture wall, we used the Canon Picturewall 10 Piece System – which is absolutely genius! This system is the perfect way to create a gallery wall from start to finish. It includes the frames, the hardware to mount them, and the best thing of all, templates for your gallery wall! The template options were great, they included creating your gallery wall going up the stairs (both right and left sides) and the one I used, a standard template! I can’t wait to share with you all next week how our picture wall turned out using this system as well as Canon’s gallery wall guide. This guide is an awesome tool to create a gallery wall of your own, with step-by-step instructions that are so so easy!
I am so excited to have partnered with Canon to give away a Canon Picturewall 10 Piece System Bundle to one of my lucky readers!
