Happy Monday loves! Today I am giving a little tour of our home for the holidays. This is truly my most favorite time of year! There’s just something about coming down your stairs in the dark each morning and turning on your Christmas tree lights that makes my heart happy. I grew up in a home where it was decorated from top to bottom for Christmas and I can’t wait to do the same for my kids – it was always the most magical thing. My mom has always had such a passion for decorating and especially when it comes to Christmas, so I feel lucky to have inherited that from her!
This is our first year in our new home and it was so fun pulling the stuff out of the boxes that I hadn’t seen in two years since decorating at our old house! I definitely kept things minimal and simple this year (also thanks to my little busy one-year old ha!). I remember feeling so sad last year not being able to decorate, as we had just moved to BC and had our stuff in storage while living with my mom and dad. I felt like a kid on Christmas this year digging through it all and finding spots in our new home to fill with Christmas spirit. I always feel so much sentiment towards so many pieces I use to decorate, like my steel galvanized tub we have our tree inside! That was a gift from my grandfather’s farm that we used it at our wedding, and now for the last four years our Christmas tree has sat inside of it! With my love of white and neutrals, I definitely stuck with a more soft and neutral color palette for my Christmas decor as well! I wanted a more fresh, whimsical feel with a vintage flare! Though much of this decor is older, I did link some of the items (or similar) below! I also found a ton of my stuff at vintage markets/antique shops, as well as Homesense! So definitely check out those kinds of stores because there are so many treasures that you can find. If you have any questions or want to know where things are from, leave them in the comments below!
